Where can I have counselling?
I offer sessions in two locations and online:
- Northwich — in person from my therapy room in Kingsmead, on the ground floor. There is a ramp from the pavement to the front door and a small step at the threshold. Please note there is a cat in the home.
- Knutsford — in person from a first-floor therapy room. There are stairs to access this room.
- Online — via a secure video platform, from wherever suits you.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are available in two standard lengths — 60 minutes or 90 minutes. Most clients work with 60-minute sessions, which are a full hour, unlike many therapists who work with a 50-minute hour. 90-minute sessions are also available for those who prefer more time or are working on something that benefits from a slower pace.
Relationship Reset and Relationship Crossroads Intensives are 2-hour sessions designed for deeper, focused work — see pricing below.
Single sessions are 90 minutes, giving enough space to arrive, explore, and leave with something useful.
How much do you charge?
- 60-minute session: £90
- 90-minute session: £135
- Single session (90 minutes): £150
- Relationship Reset / Relationship Crossroads Intensive (2 hours): £250
A prepayment discount is available on blocks of 6 hours for regular ongoing therapy. This does not apply to single sessions or intensives. Please get in touch if you’d like to discuss which format might suit you best.
What is your cancellation policy?
You’ll receive email reminders 1 week and 2 days before each session. If you need to reschedule, please get in touch as soon as possible — I appreciate as much notice as I can get so I can offer the slot to someone on my waiting list.
If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, the full fee is payable.
Is everything confidential?
My therapy room is on the ground floor and there is a ramp from the pavement to front door. There is a small step at the door threshold.
How many sessions will I need?
There’s no single answer to this – it depends on what you’re bringing to therapy and what you’d like to achieve. Some people find that a handful of sessions gives them the clarity or tools they need; others choose to work for longer on deeper or more complex issues.
I don’t require any minimum commitment. We can review how things are going as we go, and you’re free to pause or end therapy whenever it feels right. The most important thing is that sessions are working for you.
Do I have to commit to weekly sessions?
No. While some people find a regular weekly rhythm helpful, especially early on, there’s no requirement to work that way. Many clients find that fortnightly sessions strike a good balance: regular enough to make meaningful progress, while fitting around busy lives. Others flex their frequency depending on what’s happening in their lives at the time. We can work out a pattern that suits you and fits with current availaiblity.
Is online therapy as effective as in person?
Research suggests that online therapy can be just as effective as face-to-face work for most people and most issues. It also has practical advantages: no travel, more flexibility, and the option to be in a space where you feel comfortable.
That said, it’s also a personal preference. Some people find it easier to open up in person; others find the slight distance of a screen actually helpful. If you’re unsure, it’s something we can talk through in your free consultation and there’s no reason you can’t switch between the two as your needs change.
Do you work with couples or more than two people?
Yes – I work with couples and with non-dyadic relationships, including multi-partner structures. Sessions are tailored to the relationship dynamic you bring. Sessions for more than two people are held online due to space.
Do you counsel children?
I work with clients aged 14 and above.
