Not perform. Not defend. Not hold it all together on your own.

I offer clinical supervision for trainee and qualified counsellors and psychotherapists who want a space that feels safe, thoughtful, and genuinely supportive, while still being willing to ask the difficult questions when they matter.

My approach is grounded, relational, and person-centred, with enough structure to support ethical, reflective practice without supervision feeling rigid or box-ticking.

How I work as a supervisor

I aim to create a supervision relationship that is open, collaborative, and well-contained. A space where you can bring the work you are proud of, the work you are unsure about, and the work that keeps you awake at night.

Supervision with me is:

High support and appropriate challenge

Rooted in trust, honesty, and respect

Focused on your development as a therapist, not creating a “mini-me”

Attentive to ethics, client safety, and professional responsibility

Responsive to who you are, how you work, and the context you practise in

I work integratively, drawing on the formative, normative, and restorative functions of supervision, with a strong emphasis on reflective practice. We will regularly review how supervision is working for you and adjust as needed.

My own learning as a supervisee has deeply shaped how I practise. I know the difference good supervision can make, and how damaging it can feel when supervision does not feel safe or respectful. That experience informs how seriously I take relational fit, communication, and containment in my supervisory work

Who I supervise

I work with:

Trainee and qualified counsellors and psychotherapists in the UK

Therapists working across a range of modalities and client groups

Practitioners who want a thoughtful, relational supervisory space

Therapists working with sex, relationships, identity, and intimacy, as well as broader mental health presentations

My core training is person-centred counselling. I also hold diplomas in CBT and Clinical Sexology, Psychosexual Therapy, and Intimate Partner Therapy, alongside a Level 7 qualification in Clinical Supervision.

While I have particular expertise in relational and psychosexual work, I supervise therapists working in many different niches and approaches.

Inclusion and accessibility

I offer GSRD- and neurodivergent-affirming supervision. I welcome conversations about access needs and reasonable adjustments, and I see this as part of ethical, respectful practice rather than an add-on.

Practical details

£60 per 60-minute session; pro rata for longer sessions

Online supervision available

Evening appointments available

UK-based practice

Next steps

Finding the right supervisor matters. That initial sense of fit is important, and I do not assume I will be the right supervisor for everyone.

If you would like to explore working together, contact me at Louise@LouiseHeywoodCounselling.co.uk to book a free half-hour consultation.
